Ingredients

For the Shake
  • 2 cups cold whole milk
  • 2 tbsp natural creamy peanut butter
  • 2 tsp honey or maple syrup
  • 1/2 tsp alcohol free vanilla extract
  • 2 scoops (about 60g) vanilla whey protein powder
  • 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • Pinch of fine salt
  • 2 medium ripe bananas sliced and frozen
  • 1 cup ice cubes
For Garnish
  • 1 tbsp chopped roasted peanuts
  • Light dusting of ground cinnamon

Equipment

  • High speed blender crushes frozen fruit and dissolves the powder into a smooth shake
  • Digital kitchen scale measures the protein powder for a consistent texture
  • Silicone spatula scrapes the sides so no powder hides in the jar
  • Shaker bottle mixes single servings on the go
  • Freezer safe bag stores banana slices without sticking
  • Insulated tumbler keeps the shake cold for hours

Method

  1. Pour the milk into the blender, then add the peanut butter, honey, and vanilla. The liquid should sit at the bottom, near the blades.
  2. Spoon in the protein powder, cinnamon, and salt.
  3. Drop in the frozen banana slices and ice cubes, then secure the lid. The frozen pieces should sit on top and push everything down toward the blades.
  4. Start on low for 10 seconds, then switch to high for 45 to 60 seconds, until the shake looks thick and smooth with no powder specks or banana chunks.
  5. Taste the shake and add 1 teaspoon more honey if you want it sweeter. Pour into two chilled glasses, top with chopped peanuts and a dusting of cinnamon, and serve right away.
  6. Load the liquids first, add the powder on top, and blend on high for a full minute; powder added first sticks to the jar, and a short blend leaves it gritty.

Notes

  • Use frozen banana slices for the thickest shake.
  • Choose a powder with 20 to 25 grams of protein per scoop.
  • Drink within 15 minutes for the best texture.
Storage: Refrigerate in a sealed jar up to 24 hours, or freeze in ice cube trays up to 2 months.
The five-minute total assumes frozen bananas are ready. Nutrition varies by powder and scoop size; check your product label. Contains peanuts and dairy.
